Ric Fest Scholarship Fundraiser
The Ricardo Correa Scholarship
Foundation is hosting a fundraiser to raise money for scholarships in
2011 on Saturday, November 20, at Frank’s Power Plant in Bayview (2800
Kinnickinick). It will have a drag show starting at 8:30 p.m. followed
by a karaoke contest. Prizes for the karaoke contest will be a quarter
barrel to the grand prize winner; $25 gift certificate to the 2nd place;
and $10 gift certificate to the 3rd place winner. The contest is open
to all singers. During Ric Fest, there will also be a silent auction.
All money raised will be split between the state and the national
scholarship.
Following Ric Fest, Glitter Stage Productions will be
hosting a drag show fundraiser at Mona’s on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at
9:00 p.m. sharp. The proceeds will benefit the scholarships.
This past summer, Ric Fest went national, raising almost
$1,500 of the $2,000 that will be given out this summer in Chicago at
the NEA Convention. Ric Fest will still be giving out a state
scholarship this spring. Check out more about the scholarship at the new
website at ricfest.org.
For anyone interested in getting involved with the planning of
Ric Fest, the next meeting will be at Frank's Power Plant on Monday,
Nov. 15 at 5:30 p.m.
